The voice of an angel

Outside reviews are saying, “The voice of an angel!”  “This gal is fun, quirky, clever and oh so talented!” “A light on stage like June Carter Cash!”  … But it Helps is Raquel Telfer’s debut EP released in June, 2017, including 4 tracks that showcase her signature catchy phrases, sweet melodies, and lyrical integrity. The album cover features a photo from a historic 1880s jail, where scenes from the music video for album track “Rose Colored Shot Glasses” were shot. Raquel felt an instant connection to the photo of her playing guitar in a jail cell bunk next to the artistic carving of a girl with a guitar, done by a former inmate who had been counting down the days to their release.

“The photo was symbolic to me because I feel like this EP is my own personal break out of some form of imprisonment.  I’ve always been creative and artistic, and spent years writing songs that no one ever heard or knew I sang.

I was too inhibited share my talents with the world, but now here I am…setting it free,” Raquel tells of the cover art inspiration.  “…But it Helps” was the first of many projects to come, with a new single released in January, 2018, and a full-length album capturing her new “jiggy grass” sound in the works.

Fans can expect an original style and colorful lineup of songs to come from Raquel Telfer, and you don’t have to buy her music for her to keep making it…”But it Helps.”
